Nugget #32

The soul has 5 levels of awareness. Understand that the soul is a continuum; there are no steps to it. However, for the sake of our understanding there are 5 distinct points in the continuum that are identified. They are as follows: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Chaya, and Yechidah.

Nefesh is the lowest level of awareness we deal with. This awareness is sensed through our 5 senses. We see, smell, hear, taste, and feel to “know” we are alive. When we read passages about offerings mentioning the “soul” the Hebrew word used is Nefesh. Remember the verse “there is life in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11)? The Hebrew word is Nefesh that is translated into “life”.

The offerings are only in reference to the lowest expression of the soul. The offering is meant to remind us that the lower awareness level is where we get into trouble. Meaning these senses are not perfect and will draw us off course, typically without any thought on our part.

A sin offering is meant for those actions that were not premeditated. Sin means error.

Ask yourself: Are there any offerings for premeditated sins?

Nugget #31 – Levels of Awareness

Psychologist Daryl Bem developed a theory called “Self-Perception Theory”.  He believed a person could observe themselves and through this observation can modify their behavior (habits).
How can we observe ourselves unless we are capable of looking down at ourselves?  Meaning the higher soul can look down on the lower soul.  A better word for soul is awareness.  The soul has levels of awareness which no less than 5 are mentioned within the TNK.  Meaning there are 5 Hebrew words that can translate as “soul”.  This unfortunately causes confusion about the soul.
I personally believe Dr. Daryl Bem is proving that the soul has levels of awareness and they are accessible at will by us.
Ask yourself: What are the levels of awareness?

Nugget #30 – The soul

The soul is misunderstood, by most of us, due to our thinking as individuals not as a collective whole.  Let step through this.

There is the soul, that part which is expressed through the body and the soul that we collectively belong to, at a higher level.  Both soul(s) are eternal and are not limited to the life span of a body.  In fact the upper and lower soul really are not disconnected but rather the lower soul is an expression of the soul like a facet of a diamond is unique but not separate of the diamond.

Contemplate this: Have you ever had a moment where you were looking down or at yourself?  As though you were the audience and actor at the same time?  Try to think of those occasions and try to repeat the experience in real-time by choice.

Nugget #29 – Lampshades

The concealments (See Nugget #27) are like lampshades. A definition for lampshade is “a shade, usually translucent or opaque, for shielding the glare of a light source“.

Having a source of light and darkness gives opportunity to create a translucent or opaque shielding that prevents a direct glare from the source.  The two extremes of light and darkness will effectively nullify our existence.  We see this exemplified in Genesis 1:2a “Now all the land was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep…”

In order to permit us to exist and to have a certain degree of freedom, the Creator had to create a series of light (disclosures) and darkness (concealments) arrangements to create a pocket for us to function within.  This will permit us to avoid being overwhelmed and nullified by either extreme.

Ask yourself: Reread Genesis 1 starting in verse 5.  Note the uses of “light”, “darkness”, “day”, “night”, “morning”, and “evening”.  Do you see this passage differently now?

Nugget #28

Why can we not simply have light without the darkness?  Why not simply create creation with light and wisdom only and avoid darkness entirely?
If you never have, please adjust your contract on your TV or Monitor.  What happens if it is turned all the way down?  You will completely loose vision and nothing is revealed.  All is hidden in a blanket of darkness, with nothing to be discovered.  Now turn it all the way up.  Your screen turns completely white everything is over shadowed and veiled in a curtain of light.  The end result is the same.  Interestingly, either way everything is concealed and hidden.
So when speaking of light and darkness we are to avoid the extremes, which are our Creator in fullness.
Now if we adjust the contrast to the middle, to avoid the extremes, we are in actuality combining light and darkness into an appropriate balance.  We are combining the benefits of each and mitigating the pitfalls of each.  We have enough darkness to hide the light in order to distinguish objects but enough light to reveal those objects.

Nugget #27 – The Light: Wisdom

There is order to chaos; however it is not recognizable to us.  It is “concealed” from us is a more appropriate way of stating it.  The Creator is orderly and so is creation.  It is sort of looking at a construction site.  We see cement bags, bricks, lumber, piping, and tons of additional material that is required to carry out a plan.  The end product is concealed from us.
This chaos is our “raw material” to further construct creation.  Not something from nothing but something from something.  The Creator has the blueprint for us and all the raw material can only fit together completely one way.  Our freedom is to attempt to put these pieces together anyway we want, with the understanding that they fit together only one way.  The question many may want to asked, though it will not be covered thoroughly here, “Is there a timer ticking away?  Is there a time limit?”  Yes there is!  However, it is not a “sorry, but you lose!” at the end.  Rather, at the end, all will come together through us for the solution will be obvious.  It is already part of us by way of our higher soul.
Why will this become obvious where now it is not?  Creation was created by wisdom.  Genesis 1:3 “Let there be light!”  Remember the sun was not created yet.  Wisdom is called “light” just as light reveals as opposed to darkness which conceals.
Ask yourself: Think of passages in the TNK that has the word light in it.  Take those passages and replace it with “wisdom” and “the revealing of something once concealed.”  Does this change some of your interpretations?

Nugget #26 – Chaos defined

Before continuing the last Nugget, there is a book I would like to share.  During my college days, there was a new book published that changed my understanding of chaos.  The book was called “Chaos: Making a New Science” by James Gleick.  It dealt with an emerging new science called Chaos theory.

One transforming idea I took away from that book was there is no real chaos; there is no real randomness in the universe.  Chaos is driven by a point of view or putting the information into a proper context in order to be understood.  It depends on what level or perspective we observe the randomness at.  For example, just recently I found a listing of phone numbers on a sheet of paper at home.  The numbers did not make sense; they sort of looked like phone numbers with the typical format of (xxx) xxx-xxxx.  I found out they were numbers for a game that my son was playing.  To him it all made sense to me it was a chaotic list.

Here is another illustration; a soldier on the battlefield sees all the events in front of him as confusing and chaotic.  He has to trust the commander who has the bigger picture.  The commander has a plan that makes sense to him and the events going on.  He, of course is looking to bring a successful conclusion to the battle.  So to the commander there is order while to the soldier there is chaos.

Ask yourself: Think of a situation where there was chaos in your live.  Now looking back was there really chaos or did you just not understand what was going on?

Nugget #25 – Transforming the Ego

In Nugget #7 we find that the correction of the ego is not done by us alone.  The Creator is to help us in this transformation.  The proper order is by way of a proper relationship that is defined by “YHVH” (see previous Nuggets on “YHVH”).  The ego is the result of contact with disorder.  The ego is what needs to be corrected in order to transform ourselves and all that we touch into a proper order.
When that correction takes place, the condition of the ego, at our level of existence, will be transformed.  In a sense we are the weak link in the chain.  We are in control of the transformation with the aid and assistance of the Creator via “YHVH”.  We reach up and the Creator reaches down via the “Elohim YHVH”.
This is a loaded subject.  Several pieces are coming together at once from previous Nuggets.  Sit back and contemplate what has been covered thus far.  Review and rethink.

Nugget #24

In the previous Nugget I suggested our primary method of transforming the chaotic world to order is by correcting ourselves.  In fact that is our primary mission.

The 10 qualities imbued throughout creation have an orderly side and a disorderly side to them.  “YHVH” brings a proper state and balance to these “Forces”.  While the absence of “YHVH” permits these “Forces” to be in disarray.  This is where we get our free will from.  That disarray gives us a range of freedom.

Unintentional sin, high-handed sin, and wickedness, are these qualities out of their proper order (see Nugget #4).  The opposite of sins are those qualities in their proper order.  Mankind were the last to be created, on the 6th day not as an expression that we are least of creation but rather we are the panicle of creation.  The Garden of Eden story reveals we are coworkers with the creator (Genesis 2:5b), as instruments of transformation for our level of creation.

Ask yourself:  How are we be coworkers?  What are we to do to participate in this mission?

Nugget #23 – Chaos to order

To continue the flow from the last Nugget we should sense that we have qualities in common with “Elohim”.  This would imply we have a connection with the Creator via those qualities that flow through all levels of creation.  So again we ask, “Why is the world in such sad shape?”

Our existence is at the lowest level of creation at the moment.  We are literally on the battlefield between order and chaos.  In fact we can even say we are behind enemy lines.  This has impacted our qualities.  Our common qualities (in our higher soul) are in proper order until we meet the chaotic part of creation.  This is why no one is completely good or bad in this world.  This is why our higher souls are pure.  We retain some of the orderly qualities to remind us and to permit us to transform the chaotic qualities into orderly qualities.   However, in order to do that we need to dip ourselves into chaos.  We have to stick our hands into the muck and get dirty in order to clean things up.  In the process our orderly qualities can and do become disarrayed.

To answer the question above, we are in a state of order and disorder because we are in the cleanup business.  This puts our world in disarray.  To look at it from the other side of the coin, at one time creation was entirely chaotic (Genesis 1:2) and that chaos has been turning into order all this time and we are on the battleground of that progress.  Order has been wining all along. It just does not look like it.  This correction takes place through us as we correct ourselves.

Ask yourself: How is “YHVH” and “Elohim” sources of order and Chaos since there is only the Creator?

Nugget #22 – Bringing order to chaos

In Nugget #21 we should be asking at least one of many questions.  We should ask, “Why is the world in such sad shape?  Why are there environmental issues, humanitarian issues and so forth?”
When creation was completed it was created with Elohim in a proper state and an improper state.  “Elohim” is in harmony and chaos at the same time.  Remember Nugget #18 spoke about “YHVH” as a proper state of “Elohim”.
In the Garden man “fell” by tasting the fruit in the wrong order (this can be a future discussion).  Some feel this was a horrible situation that should not have happened.  But the original interpretation tells us this was necessary.  It had to occur in order for us to plunge from order into chaos so that through our efforts we would bring order from the chaos.
Creation was started and sustained so that we would have a “work” to do, that work being correcting the chaos through our correction.  We are coworkers with the Creator to correct the chaotic part of creation.
Contemplate this for now before we move on. Reread the “Garden of Eden” story and look for clues that support the original interpretation.

Nugget #21 – All is one through “Elohim”

In the last Nugget, we concluded we are truly created in “Elohim’s” image. We are imbued with the same qualities. Since creation is also imbued with the same qualities implies we are fused as one with creation at all levels. We are related to all of creation because of our common qualities. Our adherence to a proper balance/alignment of these qualities, affect all of creation. Many environmentalists think of us (humans) as the scourge of the universe and need to be reduced. We are the benefactors and the malefactors of creation. Creation is intricately part of us. Without us creation would have no purpose for all of this was created for our mutual benefit (not for our exploitation).

Contemplate this for now. The above paragraph is a major mind bending paradigm shift. Explore this idea.

Nugget #20 – Sefirot, in “Elohim’s” image

Sefirot means "count" or "to number".  This is in reference to isolating the attributes that creation is imbued with as discussed in Nugget #19.

These are the basic creative forces used for creation.  Since there is “None besides Him” (Nugget #2) than we have to logically conclude these qualities are not only part of creation and all that comprises of it, but us as well.  The difficult part is realizing we are imbued with these attributes.

Psalm 82:6 ”I said: You are” elohim” [forces], sons of the Most High.”  We are “elohim”.  We are forces of the Most High.  We are imbued with the root qualities of “Elohim”.

We know that Genesis 1 is only speaking of “Elohim’s” activities in creation.  Keep this in mind when reading Genesis 1:26 where “Elohim” says, “Let us create man in our image.”  If we are in “Elohim’s” image than the natural conclusion is that “Elohim’s” qualities are a key part of us.
